Project Time
The girls continued their interest in butterflies. Sweet Pea told me she wanted to write another book. This time, the book is going to be about butterflies. We talked about what she knows and what she needs to know. She said she knows they have lots of colors. She needed to know how they looked and how they moved. We decided to look at pictures of butterflies on the internet. When she drew a picture, she included the egg, the hatched egg, the caterpillar, the chrysalis, and the butterfly. She knows more than she thinks, but she still sees things to learn. It will be interesting to see where this goes. Monkey joined in looking at the pictures and making drawings of them. She did not label her pictures.
The girls tired of working on this and moved on before the time was over. This could potentially be because it was after lunch time and they were tired. Mondays can be a little difficult because we have an appointment in the morning that keeps us from working until later in the day.
